JHSP is an Open Access, blind peer-reviewed, biannual journal in the field of public health sciences and prevention. The journal aims to stimulate the dissemination of knowledge in the public health field, to improve the efficacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of public health interventions for improving populations health outcomes. JHSP publish by Health Science Consortium of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya in collaboration with PERSAKMI.

This issue of the Journal of Health Science and Prevention features seven articles covering key topics in public health, including health system preparedness, behavioral health, environmental innovation, and nutrition. The first study evaluates disaster readiness in Puskesmas using the Hospital Safety Index, followed by research on the impact of smartphone addiction and family support on maternal caregiving. Other articles explore the use of Sansevieria trifasciata for improving indoor air quality, a risk control model for adolescent stunting, and validation of a developmental screening tool. Additional studies highlight sustainable bioplastic capsules from sugarcane bagasse and the role of dietary patterns in healthy ageing. Collectively, these articles emphasize integrated approaches to improving public health outcomes.
